Bright steel has very clean surfaces and tight tolerances. It is made by machining rolled black material.
The clean surfaces of the bright steel allow you to continue machining in turning machines later on without contaminating them excessively. Bright steel can also be used in ISO fits without further processing of the surface.
For use in machine, plant, apparatus or vehicle construction or in the electrical industry, we also supply all steel grades as bright steel. The most common production methods are cold drawing (+C) or peeling (+SH). The cold drawing process in particular enables higher steel hardnesses and strengths to be set. The freshly produced bright steel can then be ground. Thermal treatments, on the other hand – such as tempering (+QT) or various annealing processes – cause the surface to scale and are therefore usually carried out on the rolled material before production.
